What you can contribute

• Leverage your expertise in fungal pathology to acquire and interpret biological observations
• Validate and improve crop disease forecasting models through field and laboratory observations
• Develop and evolve the national platform Agrometeo+ and its forecasting tools
• Guarantee the quality of meteorological and biological data feeding the forecasting systems
• Coordinate observer networks, weather station networks, and scientific partners
• Provide scientific expertise in fungal pathology, advise users, and contribute to knowledge transfer

What makes you unique

• HES Bachelor, ES diploma or training deemed equivalent in the fields of phytopathology, biology, agronomy, or life sciences
• Experience in crop fungal pathology, both in the field and in the laboratory, particularly in disease diagnosis and biological observations
• Strong interest in digital tools, data management, and forecasting models applied to agriculture
• Ability to work independently, coordinate activities, and collaborate with scientific, technical, and IT partners
• Analytical spirit, organizational skills, and interest in developing innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture
• Knowledge of two official languages and English

Contribute to the development of the national platform Agrometeo+, a strategic tool serving innovative and sustainable Swiss agriculture. You will put your expertise in fungal pathology at the service of the platform's proper functioning, and in the development of new forecasting tools, in collaboration with specialists from many disciplines.

Agroscope is the Confederation's competence center for research in the fields of agriculture and the food industry. Researchers carry out their activities at various sites in Switzerland. The headquarters is located in Berne-Liebefeld (from 2026: Posieux FR). Agroscope is attached to the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research DEFR.

The Mycology research group develops innovative research axes in order to sustainably control the epidemic expansion of fungal diseases, including i) the conduct of epidemiological studies, ii) the creation of new bio-based fungicides, iii) the development of forecasting models and iv) the use of fungi in degradation and mycoremediation processes.
