Operational since November 1, 2024, the objective of the HUG Brain and Mental Health Consultation (https://www.hug.ch/neurocentre/consultation-sante-cerebrale-mentale) at Campus Biotech is to offer care to patients receiving neurological and psychiatric follow-ups, in order to better understand disorders in these fields and to develop new treatment strategies.

Patients will have access to clinical follow-ups thanks to dedicated neuropsychologists and doctors (neurosurgeons, psychiatrists or neurologists), without having to return to a hospital setting. Clinical pathways will be established by the respective neurology, psychiatry, and neurosurgery teams for various pathologies, making the best use of the technical infrastructure of Campus Biotech. Mobile patients will thus be able to benefit from the unique setting of the CBT and will be seen by specialized clinical teams.

In terms of research, several teams will also be available to offer participation in translational research projects, in order to advance the understanding of disorders such as fatigue and apathy, schizophrenia or motivational deficit, and pave the way for new treatment strategies adapted to the patient population. An additional asset will be the creation of a registry to better document and understand the targeted pathologies as well as the applied treatments, with standardized and quality data.

This initiative will allow for the personalization of care for patients and will strongly promote bilateral interaction and fruitful cooperation between clinicians and researchers to provide high-quality care and cutting-edge translational research.
