Chemist R&D

Your role:

As a Senior R&D Chemist, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of robust chemical processes for clinical and commercial pharmaceutical products. Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will combine scientific expertise, project leadership, and an industrial mindset to provide scalable and sustainable manufacturing solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical manufacturing processes.
• Supporting process scale-up and technology transfer from the laboratory to the pilot plant and commercial production.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to increase process robustness, efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
• Applying Quality by Design (QbD), Design of Experiments (DoE), Process Analytical Technology (PAT), and scientific data analysis to accelerate process understanding.
• Acting as the technical lead for client projects, providing scientific expertise during technical meetings and discussions with clients.
• Collaborating closely with Process Research, Analytical Development, Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
• Preparing technical documentation including development reports, risk assessments, technology transfer dossiers, and regulatory support documents.
• Identifying innovative technologies and new scientific approaches to strengthen process development capabilities.
• Mentoring junior scientists and sharing technical knowledge within the organization.
• Contributing to the strategic development of Process Development through innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Your profile:

You are a passionate scientist with solid industrial experience and a collaborative spirit. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges while working in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

You bring:

• A PhD or a Master's in organic chemistry, process chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Significant experience (more than 5 years) in pharmaceutical process development, ideally in a CDMO or GMP manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, process optimization, and scale-up.
• Good knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE), Quality by Design (QbD), Process Analytical Technology (PAT), and statistical data analysis.
• Experience in supporting technology transfer from the laboratory to pilot or commercial production.
• A solid understanding of GMP requirements and ICH guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and scientific reasoning skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including client interactions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high scientific standards.
• Proficiency in English and French.
