Job Description ##

The responsibilities of the OHS / STPS Safety Manager:

• Lead, evolve, and measure the safety management system.
• Define and propose the OHS strategy to the Executive Committee.
• Advise managers and Management on all matters related to occupational health and safety.
• Coordinate and support the safety coordinators of the various departments.
• Ensure relations with SUVA, clients, and external organizations.
• Participate in hazard, accident, and near-miss analyses.
• Conduct regular visits to construction sites and workshops.
• Support operational managers in improving working conditions.
• Lead internal audits and ensure the effective application of OHS standards.
• Define and monitor safety indicators and objectives.
• Train, sensitize, and support employees and managers.
• Participate in tenders regarding OHS aspects.
• Advise project managers in the development of hygiene and safety plans.

The Successful Applicant ##

The profile of the OHS / STPS Safety Manager: Essential:

• STPS Specialist training (or CFST safety officer / equivalent training).
• German level B2 minimum, both oral and written.
• Experience in an operational safety function.
• Strong field presence and willingness to understand operational professions.
• Ability to work in a construction environment where some processes remain to be developed.

Ideally:

• Experience in the railway sector (CFF, railway construction companies, infrastructure, or similar environment).
• Knowledge of construction site activities and constraints related to infrastructure work.
• Experience interacting with decentralized operational teams.

Beyond technical expertise, we are primarily looking for a person capable of creating a true partnership with operational teams. You spend time in the field, in workshops, and on construction sites, in order to understand activities, professional constraints, and associated risks.
