The position is attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. This department provides care to female and male patients of all ages, children and adults, suffering from neurosurgical, neurological, ophthalmological and otorhinolaryngological pathologies. The care is adapted to the needs and difficulties of the patient, from the most acute sectors (intermediate care units) to the rehabilitation sectors (neurorehabilitation).

The objective of the department is to lead the patient population towards recovery of their autonomy through teaching, support and outpatient follow-up. It ensures the operation of patients as well as their support, in order to favor an early return home. In the same vein, outpatient care is also prioritized and surgical activity is optimized, to facilitate accessibility to care within a reasonable timeframe.

The Ophthalmology Department of the HUG has been, since its creation in 1878, the leading ophthalmology hub in the canton of Genève in terms of diagnosis, eye disease treatments as well as research. It relies on the most modern diagnostic methods, the most innovative techniques and minimally invasive surgical intervention methods. Its primary values are those of a university service.

Job description ##

Under the supervision of the medical hierarchy, you assume the medical care of entrusted female and male patients, practical activities, clinical and therapeutic interventions. You participate in the night and weekend on-call system.

Your sense of organization and your ability to work efficiently allow you to ensure the application of internal rules and procedures, while guaranteeing the quality of the medical services provided.

Evolving in a stimulating university environment, within a multidisciplinary team, you also contribute to the training of male and female medical students.

In parallel with your activity, you benefit from quality postgraduate training contributing to obtaining your FMH specialist title in ophthalmology. In this capacity, you evolve your training according to the defined plan and FMH requirements.

Profile description ##

You hold a federal medical diploma or equivalent title recognized by the Commission fédérale des professions médicales (MEBEKO).

Experience in the form of internships in ophthalmology and a clear scientific interest is desired.

Possessing excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with the patient population, you demonstrate excellent mastery of French both orally and in writing. For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level certificate is required.

You have a very good capacity for written and oral expression.
