Staff Specialist and Business Risk Manager

Join the team of the Branch Network Management and business development department of the Retail and Digital Banking Division, within the Banque Cantonale de Genève (BCGE), an Authentic, Courageous and Equitable bank.

As a Staff Specialist and Business Risk Manager, you will support the Retail and Digital Banking Division in the identification, assessment and control of non-financial risks (operational risks related to processes or human activities, regulatory, reputational or conduct risks) and in the good governance of the Division. You will ensure the effectiveness of the Division's internal control system and the application of internal directives.

Your missions ##

Risk Management

• Participate in the identification, assessment and control of the Division's operational risks, in collaboration with the Operational Risk section and the different business lines
• Monitor risk indicators, analyze results and propose optimization measures, if necessary
• Transmit cases requiring in-depth analysis and/or corrective measures to business managers
• Follow up on remediation plans
• Participate in multidisciplinary working groups under the lead of business experts aiming to quickly resolve complex and/or urgent problems
• Evaluate risk impacts during the launch of new activities or major changes and propose appropriate control and mitigation measures

Controls and governance

• Participate in the definition and documentation of the controls of the Retail and Digital Banking Division
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal control system
• Perform certain controls and supervise others
• Ensure the follow-up of revisions of internal procedures and their proper application within the Division
• Contribute to the management and implementation of action plans resulting from audit recommendations
• Participate in committees dealing with operational risks
• Prepare reporting for management

Support to business lines

• Be the reference interlocutor on all matters relating to operational risks within the Division
• Raise awareness among teams regarding risk culture and best practices

Your profile ##

Education

• Bachelor or master in finance, economics, risk management or equivalent field
• Banking CFC, supplemented by continuing education

Experience

• More than 5 years of experience in a front office role in the banking sector, ideally supplemented by experience in risk management
• Very good knowledge of the Swiss banking environment
• Good mastery of operational mechanisms relating to a branch network and related activities (payment traffic, physical security, LSFin, CBD, etc.)
