Data Journalist / News 80%, Ecublens

We are looking for a data journalist at 80% to complete the data unit of the RTS transmédia newsroom, within the information department in Ecublens.

Your mission ####

Within the data team in Ecublens, you will be required to conduct research and publish investigations fueled by data journalism tools. Reporting to the Investigation Hub, you will propose original editorial contributions, in collaboration with journalists from various skill hubs. You will also be called upon to put your expertise at the service of the various RTS vectors (audio, video, digital), on a daily basis and on long-term projects. You will be responsible for the dissemination of your work on RTS channels.

Your profile ####

• CFJM training or considered equivalent ;
• Excellent knowledge of data journalism practices and tools (in particular spreadsheets, visualization tools)-;
• Mastery of artificial intelligence (AI) tools;
• Ease with the analysis and editorial exploitation of data;
• Knowledge of programming language(s) desired (Python, SQL,...)-;
• Mastery of basic mathematical and statistical concepts;
• Attraction to news in general, data journalism and investigation in particular ;
• Good knowledge of current events ;
• Ability to write synthetic journalistic texts and to format them for audiovisual;
• Developed sense of initiative, precision and rigor ;
• Team spirit ;
• Acute sense of public service ;
• French native language, with good knowledge of German and English (B1 level).
