WOOD ENGINEER

For one of our clients, a recognized player in the field of wood construction, we are looking to strengthen their team with a:

Wood construction engineer / Wood project manager (M/F)

Do you want to participate in the development of ambitious construction projects and intervene from the very first technical reflections?

In this role, you will be at the interface between clients, construction partners, and technical teams. You will contribute to transforming the needs of a project into concrete, high-performance, and economically feasible wood solutions.

Responsibilities

• Study construction projects from their early phases and identify suitable technical solutions
• Advise architects, engineering offices, clients, and various partners
• Develop wood construction concepts adapted to technical and economic constraints
• Propose different variants in order to optimize structures, costs, deadlines, and implementation methods
• Participate in the design and technical development of projects
• Study tender documents, calls for tenders, and public markets
• Participate in the preparation of technical and commercial offers
• Collaborate with internal teams to establish cost estimates and define services
• Perform or supervise the calculations and dimensioning of wood structures and assemblies according to the projects
• Ensure technical exchanges with the various stakeholders throughout the development of the project
• Develop and maintain a relationship of trust with clients and partners

Profile

• Higher education in the field of wood construction, civil engineering, or structural engineering
• HES/EPFL degree or technical training deemed equivalent
• Proven experience in the field of wood construction, ideally 5 years or more
• Very good knowledge of wood structures and construction systems
• Mastery of structural calculation software such as Dlubal RFEM/RSTAB
• Knowledge of Cadwork
• Ability to quickly analyze a project and identify technically reliable and economically relevant solutions
• Good understanding of prefabrication, manufacturing, and implementation issues
• Comfortable in exchanges with architects, engineers, and clients
• Ability to present, explain, and defend a technical solution
• Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented personality
• Very good communication skills and taste for teamwork
