Chief Icemaker

Mandatory criteria:
Curling ice technician certification issued by World Curling (levels 1 and 2) or recognized equivalent qualification;
Proven experience as a chief technician on curling competitions;
Mastery of refrigeration facilities and corresponding safety rules;
Mastery of English, the working language of the international circuit;
Full-time availability throughout the entire season, including weekends during competitions.

Mission:
As Chief Icemaker, you are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the ice, in order to guarantee high-level playing conditions throughout the season.
You apply a modern and rigorous approach, ensuring consistency, quality and safety.

Main responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the ice for all activities: training, leagues, events, competitions.
Ensure quality (consistency, safety, "elite" standards) and adapt preparation according to needs.
Coordinate ice making at the start of the season, including planning and orders for associated equipment/consumables.
Coordinate work with an assistant Icemaker at 30% (separate position, support/replacement ~1.5 days/week).
End of season (April): participation in the tidying and cleaning of the hall and closing operations.

Profile:
Knowledge of French is an asset;

Work organization
The position is full time. Each draw requires an intervention of 1 to 2 hours depending on the need.

Indicative weekly planning
Monday: 2.5 draws
Tuesday: 2.5 draws
Wednesday: 2.5 draws
Thursday: 1.5 draws
Friday: ≈ 1 draw
Weekends: 15 to 17 weekends per season (competitions / training camps)

The complete and detailed ice preparation program will be presented after receipt of applications.

Leave
Vacations are taken during the summer period (May to August).
During the cold season (September to March), up to 10 days can be taken to participate in a World Curling elite competition or similar level, provided that these leaves do not encroach on important competitions in the club calendar.
