La Fondation Officielle de la Jeunesse (FOJ) pursues the objective of promoting the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defense of the interests of the child.

To fulfill its mission, the institution manages 47 structures distributed across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 reception places for minors and young adults and offers outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ is composed of 670 employees.

As part of its activities, the FOJ regularly welcomes civil servants in support of the educational teams.

We are looking for a civil service assistant educator for the foyer Les Pontets, a structure of 9 places welcoming adolescents aged 15 to 18 years.

Job description

This announcement concerns a civil service assignment and not an ordinary job. Only persons already admitted to Swiss civil service by decision of the Federal Office for Civil Protection (CIVI) can apply.

• 25% Support in leisure activities

Organization and monitoring of extra-curricular activities and leisure, project preparation, driving vehicles.

• 25% Support in schooling

Assistance and supervision in the school progress of the young person (homework monitoring).

• 15% File monitoring

Participation in colloquiums on educational attitudes as well as meetings with families and/or social workers.

• 35% Daily support

Support within the institution in all acts of daily life: waking up, meals, hygiene, bedtime.

Activity rate: 100%

Start date: as soon as possible, according to availability and CIVI deadlines

Mission duration: 3 months minimum

Qualifications

• Interest in the social/educational field and the support of adolescents
• Interpersonal skills and ease of contact
• Sense of responsibility and reliability
• Flexibility, dynamism and capacity for adaptation
• Ability to work within an educational team
• Category B driving license and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
