2 ESU (Equipe de soutien d’urgence) coordinator(s) at 20% each

The Equipe de Soutien d'Urgence (ESU) is a service of the Eglise catholique du canton de Vaud and the Eglise évangélique réformée du canton de Vaud, recognized by the Réseau national d'aide psychologique d'urgence (RNAPU). In close collaboration with emergency services, notably the Police cantonale vaudoise, the ESU provides psychosocial support to people facing critical events.

In order to guarantee the proper functioning of this system available 24 hours a day, the coordinator ensures the operational coordination of the ESU, participates in interventions, supports team members, and develops collaborations with institutional partners. He/she also contributes to the strategic management of the service in connection with the relevant authorities.

With a view to preparing for the retirement of the current holder, the ESU is looking for two people to share the function of:

ESU (Equipe de soutien d’urgence) coordinator(s) at 20% each
(total activity rate: 40%)

Main activities:

• Ensure the operational and administrative coordination of the ESU.
• Organize on-call shifts, supervisions, training, and ensure the follow-up of team members.
• Participate in interventions and lead the system during major events or complex situations.
• Ensure the administrative management of the service (schedules, statistics, reports, budget and material resources).
• Develop and maintain collaborations with institutional partners, specialized networks, and the strategic committee.
• Represent the ESU to partners, authorities, media, and promote its mission.
• Contribute to the development of team members' skills and the continuous improvement of the system.

Profile sought:

• Specialist training according to the criteria of the RNAPU (Réseau national d’aide psychologique d’urgence) or similar training (master's in psychology, medicine or theology).
• Theological training recognized by the Churches.
• Experience in ecclesial ministry and emergency support is indispensable.
• Strong skills in crisis management, emergency psychology and/or adult training, as well as very good analytical, organizational, and stress resistance abilities.
• Ability to work in a network with institutional partners and exercise responsibilities with autonomy and discernment.
• Great flexibility required, as schedules are adapted according to interventions.

Place of work: Mainly at home, teleworking. Travel within the canton de Vaud.

Start date: 1st March 2027, or to be agreed.
