The higher judicial authority of the Canton de Vaud, the Tribunal cantonal, assumes the dual role of jurisdictional authority and management of the l-Ordre judiciaire vaudois. It is composed of 45 cantonal judges and substitute judges, elected for the duration of the legislature, as well as a clerkship serving its various courts.

The Tribunal cantonal, which employs nearly 200 magistrates and collaborators, is looking for a clerk attached to the Cour d'appel pénale and the Chambre des recours pénale.

Responsibilities ##

• Autonomously draft complete draft judgments based on reports or instructions from the judge, and in certain cases without prior instructions
• Participate in hearings, and where applicable, in on-call duties.
• During hearings and deliberations, keep the minutes and take notes.
• Proceed with the indexing and anonymization of the decision to be published on the internet.

Qualifications ##

• Master in law or an academic degree deemed equivalent
• Several years of professional experience desired
• Sense of public service and responsibility
• Experience in judicial drafting
• Confirmed interest in criminal law matters
• Excellent spelling, mastery of typing, rigor, precision and discretion
• Very good resistance to stress

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to present an extract from the debt collection register as well as a criminal record dating from less than 3 months.
