Head of Care

L’Association Les Châtaigniers operates a medico-social establishment (EMS), a home care and support organization (OSAD), as well as an occupational therapy organization. It considers that the quality of services relies primarily on the women and men who make them possible.

Head of Care

As Head of Care, you ensure the steering, organization, and development of the EMS care service, in close collaboration with the management. You contribute to defining institutional orientations regarding care and ensure their implementation, guaranteeing quality, safe services adapted to the needs of the people supported.

You supervise and support local managers, notably the unit care coordinator nurses (ICUS). You promote the consistency of practices, the empowerment of teams, and collaboration between different services and partners, notably with the responding physician, treating physicians, and partners in the care network.

Your missions include notably:

• the steering and development of the care project;
• the organization and continuity of care;
• the supervision and support of local managers;
• the management of human and material resources of the service;
• participation in the preparation and monitoring of the care budget;
• interprofessional coordination;
• quality, safety, and risk management;
• supervision of the assessment of needs and clinical documentation;
• communication with residents, their relatives, and network partners;
• training and skill development;
• project management and change management.

Profile sought

You are a qualified nurse with confirmed experience in a care management function and wishing to put your clinical and managerial expertise at the service of a developing organization.

You know how to translate institutional orientations into concrete objectives, unite managers and teams around a common project, and combine quality of care, attention to people, and responsible resource management.

You meet notably the following conditions:

• Bachelor of Science HES in nursing, ES nurse diploma, or equivalent title. For any foreign diploma, recognition by the Swiss Red Cross;
• authorization to practice under your own professional responsibility in the canton of Geneva, obtained at the latest upon entering into function;
• postgraduate training in health organization management or in the management of care services, or equivalent training, required;
• experience in geriatrics and in the support of elderly people is an asset;
• confirmed experience in a care management function, with demonstrated skills in team management, organization, and resource management;
• ability to develop participatory management, to delegate, to make decisions, and to accompany change;
• skills in project management, continuous quality improvement, and risk prevention;
• analytical, synthesis, and prioritization skills, associated with a global vision of institutional functioning;
• interpersonal ease, aptitude for dialogue and conflict management, sense of responsibility and discernment;
• adherence to the values and the institutional project of l’Association Les Châtaigniers;
• mastery of professional digital tools in the care field, notably the computerized resident file, planning tools, and monitoring indicators; knowledge of the PLAISIR method is an asset;
• good mastery of Microsoft 365, notably Word, Excel, and Outlook.
