In a context of innovation and exploration of new markets, our client is strengthening its design teams to support the development of solutions intended to transform intervention methods on railway infrastructures.

This new position responds to a clear ambition: to identify the mechanization opportunities of tomorrow and imagine the machines capable of meeting the operational challenges of the construction sites of the future.

This function is intended for a curious engineer, endowed with a true field sensitivity and wishing to evolve beyond the traditional design office.

You will be required to understand user issues, observe construction sites, dialogue with customers, and transform these observations into innovative concepts and concrete development projects.

Your mission

At the crossroads of innovation, mechanical design, and analysis of customer needs, you contribute to imagining future mechanization solutions intended for railway works.

Your role consists of understanding current working methods, identifying their limits, and anticipating the necessary evolutions to improve the performance, safety, and efficiency of operations.

To do this, you will meet users, observe field practices, and participate in the definition of new generations of machines, functionalities, or specialized equipment.

Your responsibilities

You carry out active monitoring of operational practices and regularly visit construction sites to observe the methods used in the field.

Your exchanges with operators, railway companies, and users allow you to understand their operational constraints, to identify expressed needs as well as those that still remain to be formalized.

You analyze this information in order to transform it into technical and functional requirements exploitable by the engineering teams.

In this process, you participate in the evaluation of new development opportunities and contribute to the definition of innovative concepts responding to the current and future challenges of railway works.

You also take part in mechanical design activities, from preliminary studies to the development of the selected solutions.

You participate in the drafting of technical documents, the monitoring of developments, the control of studies, and the coordination with the various teams involved in the projects.

Finally, you contribute to representing the company during field visits and occasionally participate in exchanges related to the evolution of practices and standards in the sector.

Your profile

Holding a HES engineering degree, Master in mechanics, or training deemed equivalent, you ideally justify significant experience in the mechanical design of special machines, industrial equipment, or complex systems.

A knowledge of the railway sector constitutes an appreciated asset, without being indispensable.

Beyond your technical skills, you enjoy contact with users and field environments.

You are capable of quickly understanding operational issues, synthesizing them, and translating them into realistic and innovative technical solutions.

You are recognized for your intellectual curiosity, your analytical capacity, as well as your interpersonal skills.

New situations stimulate you and you like to explore topics that are still poorly structured in order to make development opportunities emerge from them.

Proficiency in French, English, and German is sought in order to evolve effectively in an international context and to collaborate with various interlocutors.
